Baby Tuesday

Alright, getting a jump on this week's BT.

Baby R is in the living room watching Diego, and Kevin and Kid C are still asleep in bed.
I'm coming down with a cold, but Baby R has made a full recovery, thank goodness.
And best of all, I didn't have to take him to a doctor and mess with all that weekend/holiday, on call stuff.

Normally, I try not to take both kids to the store. And my instinct is to say "no" to these types of carts, but I did it anyway.
He lasted about 2 aisles before he leaped out and started touching everything. Kid C was happy to watch Oswald on my iPhone the whole time in the "car."
Btw, I love Oswald. Not like how I love Charlie and Lola. Because I would watch Charlie and Lola even if I didn't have kids. But Oswald is super mellow but not teletubbie mellow. It's like reading a bedtime story. No rambunctious songs, no whining, no yelling, any conflict is calm and collected. I highly recommend downloading the whole season like I did on iTunes. It's worth it.

The kids got their first real haircuts the other day. I didn't go to a kid cut place because I thought Kid C would have more fun thinking she was doing something "grown-up." This place is near our house, and I could tell that the lady wasn't too pleased about me showing up unannounced on a Saturday with two kid haircut requests. I'm pretty sure she charged me the adult cut price for both of them, so I guess she got back at me that way.
Anyway, Baby R was so adorable I couldn't stand it.

Baby R took this pic with my phone. He also took pics of my knee, his shoe and the magazines, but I left those out.

We originally bought a pack of Valentines tattoos to send to Cousin S, but then Kid C wanted a pack too, so we got double.
The funniest thing is that they wanted ALL of them at once, and ALL of them on their arms. The kids got tattoo sleeves before I did! ;)

This was right before bathtime, that's why his diaper is half off.

This is video of him and his salon visit.

Baby Tuesday on Wednesday

Okay, it happened again. I think this means truly I am too busy.

Will I stop? Not anytime soon.

Mostly in reverse order, as usual.

Kid B getting ready for her Halloween party, as a pirate by her pirate mommy.

Baby R and Kevin milling about as the party begins.

All the kids at the Halloween party watching the pinata action.

Cute little babies.

I'm not usually a let-me-hold-your-baby kind of girl. But Baby L was so gosh darn cute I had to hold her.

The pirate showing the princess the jump house.

The pirate and the princess again, they're a year apart, but look how tall Kid C is!

Pirate's booty! (okay, I know, narf.)

Give it hell, my little prince!

They had this sort of community pumpkin, er, thing downtown a couple of weeks ago. I mean, what else are we doing with two kids on a Saturday? Not much.

Kid C is stoked about her firefighter stickers, handed out by real firemen.

I love this outfit of hers. If she wanted to wear it everyday, I might just let her.

A couple of weeks ago, a neighbor's fence caught on fire, and you would have thought the whole block was burning down by the number of firefighters on the scene. Holy moley there were a TON! I woke up Baby R out of his nap so he could watch them (I don't remember where Kid C was, maybe at school?).

We walked out to the sidewalk and a firefighter, in his full ensemble came over and handed Baby R a firefighter badge sticker. He was so smitten, it was a top ten cute moment.

Orchard Valley Coffee is the alt-coffee house 'round these parts. The free wi-fi and multitude of seating makes it super popular with pretty much everybody. It's not that stylish, and it's not that tasty, but wifi and seating, that's all we want apparently.

We sat and drank some chocolate milk before the used bookstore opened. They were, of course, spaz-tastic from all that sugar and chocolate afterwards. And there was slight mayhem in the bookstore when we finally got in there. Oh well, we traded some books and called it even.

Baby Tuesday on Wednesday

I tried really hard to post my Baby Tuesday from my new iPhone last night! I really tried, but forces aligned against me and I was unsuccessful. Boo.

But to celebrate the arrival of "snowball jr." my new iPhone, I will post all my iphone pics on this edition:

I took this photo of Kid C last night after she splashed permanent pink ink all over the dining room carpet, the hall carpet, the dining room table and herself.
I was mad.
You can see on her hands is the pink ink stains.
The only thing I managed to get the pink out of was the table, but I had to sacrifice the veneer a little bit to get it out.
Kids, they will make you crazy.

Ah, MoBo, always a crowd pleaser. See below for video of him in action.

Monday we had a different schedule so we went to go "watch" Kevin play in the eBay soccer tournament final. Baby R however just wanted to wander off. Kid C was pretty good for a while and then she got iPhone happy and then shortly after we had to call it a day and leave.

Kid C made this necklace for me out of Baby R's snowboot tag elastic and a Barbie purse. And then she insisted on taking a picture of it with my phone.

We had some friends over on Friday night and one friend brought her daughter Kid V along. I told Kid C she could stay up and play with her, and that's just what she did. Until midnight, they played and played and played. Here she is post-dress-up in her undies. All hopped up on marshmallows.

I accidentally dressed my son as a farm boy last week. I had to buy him snow boots because at Target, they don't sell "wellies" in October. And they sell rain boots in the spring, when we in California don't get rain anymore. Aren't there enough of us here that they can sell us some rain boots? And what about Florida? C'mon.

You will see that he's wearing heavy duty boots, Wranglers and a western shirt. All he needs is a little ATV and a mesh-back hat and I'd make him carry around a little cannister of Skoal in his back pocket to complete the ensemble.

This is the cute pout. It's blurry, but I think you can make out the cuteness.

Baby Tuesday

I wanted to Flickr cheat, but I didn't. I hope my 3-4 readers appreciate it.

On Monday we drove down to Gizdich Ranch and it was one of the best times I've had with just me and the kids. The drive down was beautiful and they behaved int he car, and behaved when we got there. The weather was perfect and the place was better than advertised, even though berry picking season has ended (that's their big deal there, the berry picking).

I'm not sure why they call it a ranch because it sure looked like a farm to me. Or orchard? I don't know. But I told the kids we were going to visit a fruit farm, and boy did they get excited about that!
Baby R was stoked about all the farm equipment that was just hanging around and then some farm hands would come over and turn them on and use them. It was mechanical heaven for him.
He was jumping around overjoyed at this backhoe and then I told him to say cheese and got into his tin soldier stance for some reason.

Kid C had to move in on his picture. She butted in and said "cheese!"

Can you see us?!
I put the camera on the timer ontop of a fertilizing machine and ran over below the windmill and beside the scarecrow.

The entire place was free, and you could just drive up and park, walk around whereever you pleased, they had a store, a pie shop (which also sold sandwiches), an antique shop and lots of barns where they actually processed the fruit. It was super laid back, so I let the kids play in the play-area and sat myself down at a picnic table under an apple tree.

So many tractors! So much freedom!

Which machine will I touch first!?

Aforementioned fertilizing machine. Later we saw the farm hands roll it over and hook it to a tractor and haul it into the apple orchard.

Kid C ate her whole sandwich and was being generally good so I let her take possession of the mixed berry pie. I also told her that it would be kind and loving to share with Baby R even though he didn't eat much sandwich and chased the farm dog around when he should have been eating. I thought it was cute watching them share.

These photos were taken at a birthday party they went to on Saturday afternoon...

My friend hired this company/couple to come and do their animal routine at the party. I hadn't ever really seen a kids' show at a party before so I was wondering how it would go. But they did such a good job! You can't really see Kid C, but both Baby R and her are helping hold up a python.

Baby R was the one kid that refused to sit down. I would get him to sit, then he'd pop back up, then sit, then pop, sit, pop...
He was really excited.

Kid and her front row seat. She was the first one on the mat when he laid it down, way before any of the kids were even aware that he was setting up.

I think he's got the guinea pig here.

Saturday morning, before the party, a bunch of Kevin's family went over to help his grandparents fix some stuff around the house.

Baby R played with these work gloves for a while until Gramps busted him. :)

He's clapping with them here and thinking himself very hilarious.

Again, thank heavens for Katheryn and Lisie, Kid C's idols.
She's extra good around them and she likes "chat" with them.

Baby Tuesday

UPDATE: We have the ballet recital video!

(wait for it to process)

There is this park in Los Altos with a real creek running beside it. It's a rushing river in the Winter after it rains, and it's bone dry most of the Summer, but in the Spring, it's perfect for playing in. The "Little Rascal Gang" was there too.

Kid C initiated this pose when I told them all to look at me.
She did the "buddy squeeze" hug all by herself. So cute!

Here they are heading upstream away from mom-eyes.

Yeah. I had to rescue her off that thing after I took the pic.

Wee Tom Sawyer.

Baby Z and Baby R. About one year apart. Baby Z's big sister Kid K is Kid C's blonde friend in the first pic.

Snack forum.

So here's the Wings of Freedom exposition we went to two weeks ago.
It was kind of expensive to get in, but overall, I guess it was worth it. I had never been to Moffett Field before, and that was an adventure in itself.
The price was high more because you could touch the planes and get inside and get your hands on all the equipment.
But it ended up that the kids didn't want to get inside. I barely stuck my head in before Kid C started totally losing her mind that the plane was going to suck us inside or something. My daughter, the alarmist.

Baby R did really like the planes.

Especially touching the planes.

He was the perfect height to inspect the aft end of the planes.

Happy smile.

She thought it best to hold his hand so that the wouldn't get hurt.
This lasted about 10 minutes and then he didn't want any part of her mother-hen-ness.
After that she proceded to nag the life out of him and me, telling us how dangerous it was, just walking around the planes. Incredible. I wanted to take the scarf off my head and gag her with it like a kidnapper.

Unfortunately, those cute little planes were off limits. If one were so inclined, s/he could pay thousands of dollars to actually fly in one.

This was the initial excitement. If only it had lasted a little bit longer for you-know-who.

More excitement, further away.

Up close excitement.
