a tribute post

Don Adams, a.k.a. "Agent 86" died yesterday.
Get Smart was one of my favorite TV shows when I was a kid (yes, they were re-runs). I secretly wanted to be Agent 99. For those of my generation that have no idea what I'm talking about, at least know that Get Smart was the inspiration for Inspector Gadget. Posted by Picasa

Come on now, you're selling our generation too short. I asked all of the guys in my office between 22 and 30 if they had ever watched "get smart" and like 50% of them said they had, then I brought up the shoe phone and 100% said "OH YEAH, I loved that show!"

Of course, most of them usually followed up by saying "His helper chick was hot" though... Engineers. Go Figure.

LOL at the hot chick bit.
Yes, it is thanks to Nick at Nite that some generation Y people know about the Laramie and the Cone of Silence. I'm glad I'm not alone!

Thank you for bringing meaning to his life and death. I believe that Get Smart was in the top 5 "shows to watch when you are home sick." I loved Get Smart.
