can I get a witness?

This is only *one* of the 6 sites we prettied-up on Beautiful Day weekend, but this one looks the most dramatically different. I went there this morning to take the "after" photo. We went back and forth on the stone facades: too expensive? does it matter? And I'm glad we went with it. She wanted green and I was nervous it would only make the house look more 60's funkadelic, but we made it work.
For reference this was the house that had the two freezers that hadn't been opened since 1985.

Before

After! Booya!

Okay, one more house.
It doesn't look like we did much, but lemme tell ya' this one was the doozie.

Here's what the backyard looked like before.
Burnt out garage,
lots of crap,
random cars,
remains of a crack head living under their back porch.

Now look how nice!
We came in and busted up the old driveway, poured a new one,
hauled out the debris,
towed the cars out to be repaired and returned,
brand new garage (the door will be coming soon)
and lots of smooth pavement for the lady in the wheelchair to get around on.

Before.

After.
I know it looks like we took out all the roses and the grass and laid down bark.
Okay, we kinda did, but the roses went to the backyard and we planted stuff that won't cost her as much to water.
And look how pretty the fence is!
That busted out window with the towel as a curtain will be replaced this month, with the new wheelchair lift.

Juanita and Alex will be our pet project for th next year. They still have a hard row to hoe before them, and we're gonna try to make it easier by doing more stuff on the inside of the house.

Go team!

WOW! That first house with the new facade looks amazing. All the people your team helped must be so grateful that total strangers would come and do so much work to help them. What a way to help the community and witness about the love of Christ at the same time. It doesn't get much more rewarding than that does it?
